Lumiscan Privacy Policy

Lumiscan is a document scanner that works entirely on your device. This policy explains what data the app handles and, more importantly, what it never does.

The short version

Everything stays on your phone. Your scans, the text recognized in them, your folders and settings: all of it is stored locally on your device. Lumiscan has no accounts, no cloud, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. The app does not send your documents, or anything else, to us or to anyone.

Data the app stores (on your device only)

• Scanned images: the photos you capture or import, and the processed versions Lumiscan produces from them.
• Recognized text: to make your documents searchable, Lumiscan reads the text in your scans using on-device text recognition (Google ML Kit running locally). This text is stored alongside each document on your device.
• Organization and preferences: folder structure, tags, favorites, and app settings.

All of this lives in the app's private storage. Deleting a document (and emptying the Trash), or uninstalling the app, permanently removes it.

Data the app collects or transmits

None. Lumiscan:

• does not require an account;
• does not upload your documents or any derived data;
• does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs;
• does not access the network to process your documents.

Permissions the app requests

• Camera: to scan documents. Used only while you are scanning.
• Photos (when you choose "Import from gallery"): to let you pick existing images to scan. Lumiscan only receives the images you select.

Sharing

When you use the Share feature, Lumiscan hands the exported PDF or images to the app you choose via your device's share sheet. What happens after that is governed by the receiving app, not Lumiscan.

Children

Lumiscan does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised before that version ships.
